Sedekah Bumi Sebagai Konvensi Tradisi Masyarakat Adat Kasepuhan Kalitanjung dalam Pelestarian Budaya Lokal (Kajian Etnolinguistik)

Abstract


This research aims to describe the relationship between language and society, especially in relation to the earth alms tradition as a traditional convention of indigenous peoples. This research describes the cultural classifications and concepts of life reflected in the Javanese lexicon in the Kasepuhan Kalitanjung indigenous community, Tambaknegara Banyumas. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with an ethnographic approach as a basis for identifying cultural meanings in the earth alms tradition. Data collection was carried out using literature studies using sources such as books and journal articles to collect concrete data related to the research problem. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The result of this research is the implementation of character education through conventional values in the earth charity tradition in the Kalitanjung indigenous community, namely instilling the value of gratitude by being grateful for the blessings of  safety, health  and agricultural  products as well as educating the community to share or give alms to each other. Apart from that, the local wisdom values that can be seen from the earth alms tradition are the value of mutual cooperation, the value of togetherness and a high work ethic.


Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan antara bahasa dan masyarakat khususnya berkaitan dengan tradisi sedekah bumi sebagai konvensi tradisi masyarakat adat. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan klasifikasi kultural dan konsep hidup yang tercermin dari leksikon bahasa Jawa di masyarakat adat Kasepuhan Kalitanjung, Tambaknegara Banyumas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi sebagai pijakan untuk mengidentifikasi makna kultural dalam tradisi sedekah bumi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan studi literatur menggunakan sumber-sumber seperti buku dan artikel jurnal untuk mengumpulkan data konkret yang berkaitan dengan masalah penelitian. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah implementasi pendidikan karakter melalui nilai-nilai konvensi dalam tradisi sedekah bumi di masyarakat adat Kalitanjung yaitu menanamkan nilai syukur dengan mensyukuri nikmat keselamatan, nikmat kesehatan dan hasil-hasil pertanian serta mendidik masyarakat supaya mau saling berbagi atau bersedekah. Selain itu, nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang dapat terlihat dari tradisi sedekah bumi ini yaitu nilai gotong royong, nilai kebersamaan dan etos kerja tinggi.
